Today is the International Day of the Girl. While the day is nearly over, I wanted to share this video with you. Girls matter. And stats show, investing in girls in developing countries brings a greater return than investing in boys. Because when you help girls find employment or education, they tend to lift their entire community, rather than leave it. Please click and watch

Educate women and you begin to alleviate poverty. Really. Of the 1.4 billion people living on just $1 per day in the world (wow–1.4 billion!), 70 percent are girls.

But if you intervene when a girl is young (12 or younger) you can change an entire community. Something to think about.

Thanks for the link, Keri. It’s amazing how big a change education can make. Westerners are probably mind blown that providing money for school can mean a girl doesn’t get married off young. Simple nut powerful.
