Just a helpful warning: the quickest way to poison your creativity and hush your voice is to wander into the miry clay of comparison.
I’m blogging at Redbud Writers Guild today. Here’s a taste of what you’ll find there:
This happens every time I read other writers’ blogs, especially if they have compelling stories or just write really well. I think—if I had a different life, if I were living a different story, I’d be a better writer. Or at least, more people would want to read what I have to say.
For example: Ann Voskamp, author of 1000 Gifts, which has been on the New York Times bestseller list for months. She writes beautifully, and seems really, really, nice. I read her stunning prose, sharp and piercing, devoid of adverbs, laced with word orders curious. …. Follow this link to Read the whole post and be sure to leave a comment.
Keri, I heard you on Midday COnnection a while back and did not get the name or url of the website that has indepth analysis of words in the bible. Could you please send it to me?
I am marking your blog as a favorite and mentioning it on my blog. One of my readers (my daughter) is a soccer mom/drug and alchol counselor and another desires to be a Christian writer. She is taking Jerry Jenkins course now. I think they’ll like your blog as much as I do.
Thanks.

Hi Donna,
Thanks for stopping by my blog! The show you listed to on Midday, I was discussing my book, Deeper into the Word. That book explores in depth 100 New Testament words (the Old Testament version will be out this fall.) the book is available at bookstores and online sellers Here’s the amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Deeper-into-Word-Reflections-Testament/dp/076420842X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317042092&sr=8-1
During the show, I mentioned several websites that I use when I do my own study (and that I used writing the book). I’m not sure which you’re asking about–it’s the combination of them that provides the indepth analysis (in other words, you’ll find that in my book).
I also have created a free resource for bible study, which is available on the Midday connection website at http://www.moodyradio.org/brd_ProgramMainPage.aspx?id=73036. That bible study download includes a list of the websites where you can find commentaries, concordances, a Greek lexicon etc.
